ABOUT ME

Ted lives and works on the family farm in Northamptonshire. He has always had a keen interest in all things mechanical and electrical. His thirst for knowledge and inquisitive nature, started his hobby with Marconi Moisture Meters. 

Having grown-up with farmers talking about Marconi Moisture Meters being the “Rolls-Royce” of meters, and making comments such as, “you can’t beat an old Marconi for its consistency and reliability“, this got him thinking, “what is so great about these old meters?“.

With the family farms old Marconi TF933A Meter collecting dust and looking a little worse for wear in the back of the workshop, it was time to purchase a reconditioned TF933A meter to try on the farm during harvest. Using the freshly purchased, and perfectly restored TF933A meter during harvest, gave him the confidence he needed to rely on the meter for its reliable and consistent moisture readings. This was the point he was hooked!

Over recent years, Ted has gained a deep understanding of how these meters work, how to problem solve them and how to restore them. He now wants to help others to either keep their own meters alive, or to welcome new owners and help them get the best from their meters.
